Pax Silica: what strategic autonomy means for the Philippines
Arnaud Leveau, President of Asia Centre, was quoted by Radio Free Asia in an article on the proposed US-led Pax Silica technology hub in the Philippines. He noted that reducing dependence on China should not mean creating a new dependence elsewhere, and that the real question is whether the Philippines can use the initiative to strengthen its own technological and industrial sovereignty rather than becoming a platform within someone else’s supply chain.
