Jean-Luc Racine

Jean-Luc RACINE is an experienced Director of Research at CNRS (Centre d’études de l’Inde et de l’Asie du Sud, EHESS) and Senior Researcher at Asia Centre. He spent ten years at the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme directing the Franco-Indian cooperation program in social sciences, before taking charge of the international advanced studies program in partnership with Columbia University.
He is a member of the editorial boards of Politique étrangère and Asia Trends, and a member of the scientific boards of Questions Internationales and Samaj (South Asia Multidisciplinary Academic Journal).

On Saturday 13 July 2023, Jean-Luc Racine was quoted in several French and European media (Le Monde, Deutsche Welle, Radio France Internationale and France24) analysing the issues surrounding Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to France for the 14 July parade.

His comments covered a range of subjects, including French foreign policy, particularly in terms of human rights, the perception of France in India, India’s position on the Russian invasion and India’s economic development.
