Young Leaders Academic Conference
Call for papers
Asia Centre in partnerships with The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in France, is launching an essay challenge aimed at encouraging innovative research on the future of Korea–France cooperation in key strategic fields. The initiative will culminate in the Young Leaders Academic Conference, scheduled for early November 2026

Eligibility
- Applicants must be either: enrolled or graduate in a Master’s programme (2nd year or higher degree) in a french university (in France or abroad as an exchange student).
- Applicants must be under 35 years old.
- Submissions may be individual or team-based (maximum three authors).
Research Topics
Submissions should address one of the following themes related to Korea–France cooperation:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Strategic industries
- Economic security
Submission Guidelines
- Length: 20,000–30,000 characters (including spaces), approximately 10 A4 pages.
- Essays must be submitted either in english or in french.
Awards
- First Prize: €1,000
- Second Prize: €800
- Third Prize: €500
Prize winners will be invited to present their research at the conference.
Selected essays will be published on in a special edition of Asia Trends, the journal published by www.asiacentre.eu and/or on the website of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in France.
Timeline & how to submit
By May 31: Submit your answer to our call of proposal
Follow this link to REGISTER as a candidate with your personal informations, your CV and the provisional title of your essay.
By June 30: Submission deadline
Once registered, you will receive a link, by May 31, to submit your essay, by June 30.
July–August: Review process and selection of top 10 essays by our jury
September: Final prize winners (3 essays) selected
September–October: Publication of selected essays*
Early November: Young Leaders Academic Conference (presentation of selected essays)
* Approximately 10 outstanding essays (including award winners) would be published on Asia Centre website and/or uploaded to the Embassy website.
