Dear readers, We are proud to present to you this new issue of Asia Trends, the half-yearly publication by Asia Centre: Between Rivalries and Autonomies: The Strategic Reconfiguration of Asia. From the Korean Peninsula to the Indian Ocean: New Power Dynamics. It comes as a return to our regular pattern of diverse topics covering key aspects of Asian issues which have seemed of particular relevance for us in the recent months. Indeed, three of the articles published in this issue would not have come out without the regular and strong support and commitment from the French Ministry of European and Foreign Affairs (MEAE), through the Centre d’Analyse et de prospective stratégique (CAPS). They are authored by Dr Racine, Dr Leveau assisted by Méline Rousseau and Jean-François Di Meglio, honorary Chair of Asia Centre. Our most sincere thanks to this longlasting support and companionship. Equally, we would like to stress the rationale behind the choice of topics and authorships. As probably recalled by our readers, the previous issue of Asia Trends illustrated Asia Centre’s determination to promote young research and gave the opportunity to European emerging analysts to propose articles on various aspects of China’s international policies. Three of them have been awarded Asia Centre prizes financed thanks to our «China Horizons» program, sponsored by the European Commission through the mandate awarded in 2022 to a consortium of think tanks and research institutes where Asia Centre belonged. This time around topics cover the widest possible area relevant in our research and they are researched by four of our seniormost members, namely Pr Cabestan, Dr Racine, Jean-François Di Meglio and our President, Dr Leveau, who was assisted by Méline Rousseau, a key element of our supporting teams based in our premises in Paris. Also, we are honored to publish an article on Mongolia by Dr Bazaarvani and an article on Mauritius and India by Pr Cabestan and Pr Cole. The publication also includes an article on Myanmar from Arthur Poras. Our issue thus covers the widest possible range of countries throughout the Indo Pacific at a crucial time when a «new deal» unravels in this key part of the world....
